WHY PETER OBI CRIED OUT

Recently, in a chat with genuine APGA (very many pretenders to the throne are springing up) Chieftains, His Excellency; Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State berated the Governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha. Obi’s public outburst stemmed from the selfishness of the Imo State Governor who was the only Governor in the South East who refused to contribute to the central purse during the burial of Late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

We would have ignored the Governor’s outcry but for his substantiating the claim that Rochas does not live the ideals of a core APGA man nor does he reflect those fundamentals in his relationship with his supposed fellow party men nay brother South East Governors. Rochas it is understood subtly fuels the ambers of disunity using dissident members of APGA to either abuse incumbent South East Governors or promote ill feelings. Gov. Obi was particularly bemused by the senseless fraternity between Rochas and Reagan Ufomba, the only APGA candidate cursed by the late Ikemba.

Rochas is in new found alliance with Ochiagha (?) Reagan Ufomba, APGA’s Gubernatorial candidate in the 2011 elections in Abia State. Little is known of Reagan but it would be important to highlight his background and say why we feel he should be placed under strict surveillance by peace – lovers and Igbos in particular who desire the strategic repositioning of the region in Nigerian body politic.

1. Reagan claims to be from Isiala Ngwa in Abia State whereas history of the area records that he actually has Ogoni blood and is therefore Ogoni by both blood and descent.
2. He was dismissed from the Seminary after the sacrilegious and heinous misconduct of impregnating the Catechist’s daughter
3. All his frivolous claims of affluence notwithstanding, he is known to live in a three bedroom flat in Lagos, explainable in the level of insolvency he is experiencing now
4. He is still hugely indebted to Diamond Bank, same reason he approached the Governor of Abia State to help hime offset the debt.
5. He was the only APGA Gubernatorial Candidate in South East who the late Ikemba did not join his campaign trail.
6. Reagan was also the only candidate who was cursed by Ojukwu for grossly violating agreements guiding the use of campaign funds. Ojukwu was irked by Reagan’s shameless act of stealing funds. Till Ojukwu’s death, Reagan had the stigma of a man cursed by the Eze Igbo himself.
7. Rochas is deploying Imo State funds to finance dissident Reagan who he (Rochas) has also used in ensuring that South East Governors are maligned.
8. Reagan wants to rule Abia State by fire and by force come 2015
9. Reagn has been holding series of meetings with Okey Ahaiwe (Kikason), the oil services magnate and Founder of the Ngwa Patriots. He wants Okey to adopt him as the sole Ngwa Candidate come 2015
10. Reagan does not hold anything on trust for too long, otherwise hobnobbing with Rochas would have been enough for him and not flirt with Kikason, in such a desperate manner

OUR OBSERVATIONS

Whereas Rochas is entitled to his mad choice, it is important to remind him that the first cardinal principle of a gentleman is to follow the path of honor and integrity. By fraternizing with a man who constitutes himself into a nuisance, abusing and disrespecting sitting Governors of the South East, Rochas is making the statement that he is part of the problem and not the solution.

We strictly note as follows that:
1. Reagan does not represent the true personality of a Patriot and selfless Igboman
2. The man Ojukwu rejected cannot be allowed to also destabilize the unity existing amongst brother Governors in the South East
3. Ukwa Ngwa should not just deny having anything to do with him, they should practically quarantine Reagan politically as evidence that the area has no accommodation for traitors and charlatans
4. A man who has started prostrating and genuflecting for a boy he is over ten years older than, is sure planning to take us back to dark days of yesteryears where paupers were railroaded to the government house only for them to hand over the State funds to their godfathers
5. “Onye Ukpa, anaghi abu Eze”, meaning that you do not crown a hungry man king else he eats what belongs to the gods

We do not intend to overflog this issue, but humbly submit that those who incense disorder, hate and acrimony do not deserve our respect. We also wish to state that the man who failed to honour Ojukwu while he lived does not deserve our attention. If Reagn Ufomba is the best Ngwa people have, then quality of Igbo leadership is sure at the precipice and obviously doomed.
